First Workout

My first day of working out went BEautifully! I started the day with a pre-workout drink from Dymatize Nutrition called XPAND. I think it seriously helped! This morning it was snowing and the roads were icy, so my running partner and I decided not to go out. It is SO not worth falling and bruising my hip at the beginning of my healthiness project! Instead, I opted to do the Shoulders & Arms DVD from P90X. I hadn't used that DVD in a few months, so I wasn't sure how much weight to use, but I didn't use enough. I used 5 pound weights for my shoulders and 10 pound weights for my biceps and triceps and this wasn't quite enough. I'll need to up that next week. At the end of the DVD, I also did Ab Ripper X from P90X and it was KILLER! I finished it though, thanks to the XPAND I'm sure! I'm SO looking forward to abs that resemble something other than, well, something other than gross squish. I really don't know how else to describe them. Blech.
